The Lincoln Navigator L Joins the Crown & Coach Fleet
A 2022 Lincoln Navigator L now sits alongside our Lexus LS460L — six captain's chairs, extended cargo, tri-zone climate. Here's how to choose between the two for your next Ottawa booking.
Crown & Coach has taken delivery of a 2022 Lincoln Navigator L. It is an owned company vehicle — not a broker’s SUV subcontracted for the evening — which means it is prepared, inspected, and driven by the same people who have been running our Lexus LS460L since day one.
For most of our history, one question came up more than any other: what happens when there are more than three of us? Until now the honest answer was two cars. That answer has changed.
What the Navigator L actually gives you
The “L” is the extended-wheelbase body. The extra length goes almost entirely into two things Guests notice immediately: legroom in the third row, and cargo space behind it.
- Six seats, all of them good seats. Captain’s chairs in the second and third rows, so nobody straddles a hump or climbs over a bench. Every passenger gets an armrest and a door or aisle.
- Extended cargo. The area behind the third row is deep enough to matter, which is the difference between “we can seat six” and “we can seat six and their luggage.”
- Tri-zone climate control. Front, second row, and third row set their own temperature. On a January run to the airport or an August wedding, that is not a luxury detail — it is the difference between a comfortable cabin and a negotiation.

The rule of thumb: if the party fits in three seats and the priority is quiet, book the sedan. If there are five or six of you, or the bags outnumber the passengers, book the SUV.
Airport transfers to and from YOW
An airport transfer is where the arithmetic gets unforgiving. A party of five landing at Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier (YOW) with checked bags does not fit in an executive sedan, and discovering that at the curb is nobody’s idea of a good arrival. The Navigator L takes the whole group and the whole luggage cart in one vehicle.
Everything else about the service is unchanged: we track your flight number, so your chauffeur arrives when you actually land rather than when the schedule said you would, and meet-and-greet inside the terminal is available on request. Tell us your party size and bag count when you book and we will assign the right vehicle rather than guessing.
Weddings and events
Wedding transportation in Ottawa tends to be a series of small logistics problems: the couple, the parents, the wedding party, and a photographer who needs to be at the next location five minutes ago. A six-seat luxury SUV solves several of those at once — a full bridal party moves together, dresses and suit bags travel flat in the extended cargo area rather than folded on a lap, and the high door opening is genuinely easier to get in and out of in formalwear.
The Lexus still has a role here. For the couple’s own arrival and departure, a long-wheelbase sedan is the more classic photograph.
Family arrivals and multi-generational travel
The vehicle we expect to get quiet, steady use is the family run: grandparents arriving for a visit, three generations heading to a dinner, a household moving between the city and a cottage. The high seating position and the wide door aperture make the Navigator considerably easier to board for Guests with limited mobility than any sedan, and tri-zone climate means the person who is always cold and the person who is always warm can stop arguing about it.
